IN LOVING MEMORY

Russell Vance Boyd

Mar 12 1960 - Apr 07 2019

Russell Vance Boyd, born March 12, 1960 passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Although cancer took Russell from us here on earth, he left us with hearts filled with love, precious memories, and a respect for him that will carry us until we meet again. Russell was born in Dallas, Texas to Lance and Bettye Boyd and grew up to be a man that they were very proud to call their son. He loved life and made sure that when today came we would have plenty of memories to remember the wonderful, fun loving, and kind person he had been. Russell’s love to his family was devout, obvious and unending. He shared his treasured 29 years of marriage with his wife, Jerri Boyd, and to the very end of his life he seized every breath to make her happy. They had two children, Lance Boyd and Molli Boyd Patterson. Russell cherished Lance and Molli with all his heart and considered them his greatest joy. He told his extended family that during these months of his illness he could never be able to fully express the wonderful care they gave him and love he felt during these difficult months.

Russell is survived by his wife, Jerri Boyd; their children, Lance Boyd and Rachel Walton and Molli Boyd Patterson and her husband, Jordan. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, Richard Boyd and wife, Sheila; his sister, Darlene Poston and husband, Burrel; brother-in-law, Richard Cox and wife, Raye Anne; sisters-in-law, Charla Cox and Pam Burks; very dear nieces and nephews, Ty Poston and wife, Andrea, Tod Poston and wife, Kristin, Chris Boyd, Jamie and husband, Brandon Gillespy, Felicia and husband, Eric Higginbotham, Charles and wife, Amanda Cox, Chad and wife, Kristin Cox, Nicole Farias-Hicks, Hayden Poston and Jaylyn Farias.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lance and Bettye Boyd; and both sets of his grandparents, Roy and Beulah Dunn and Lance and Anita Boyd; father and mother-in-law, Olan and Shirley Cox; and brother-in-law, Darrell Glenn Cox.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
