Ruby K. Helms of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 21, 2017, at the age of 100. She was born February 14, 1917, to John Frank Kenner and Dicie Ann Brewer Kenner in Cannon, Texas. Ruby married Curtis Thompson Helms on May 28, 1934, in Durant, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Helms and wife, Linda of Granbury, Texas; Fred Helms and wife, Patty of Celina, Texas; Martha Ann Swindall and husband, David of Leonard, Texas; and Gale Parks and husband, John of Frisco, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven, great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Wilson of Princeton, Texas; brother, Wade Kenner; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Thompson Helms; sons, Darrel K. Helms and Merle F. Helms and parents, John and Dicie Kenner.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
