A Graveside Service for Ruby Jean McCarty McClendon, 92 year old Plano resident, is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday June 6, 2016 at the Leonard Cemetery.
Mrs. McClendon was born September 14, 1923 at Randolph. Her parents were James Nugent and Sadie L. Dillard Sauders. She married Morris Jesse McCarty March 9, 1940 at Brownwood. She was a member of the Buchanan Street Methodist Church in Amarillo and worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company prior to her retirement. She was a very special lady and a loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She loved God and Jesus more than anything and was very active in her church. She had the most beautiful smile and was always a very positive, funny, and happy person who refused to let anything get her down. She was a very good cook and loved cooking for her family and friends. She loved the outdoors and especially loved to fish. She loved watching sports, especially the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. She passed away Friday June 3, 2016 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Allen.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Linda Gail and Jim Ayers of Plano; her six grandchildren: Matthew James Ayers of Plano, Benjamin Mark Ayers of Plano, Katherine Nicole Ayers-Roidt of Sachse, Morjean Long Knox of Duncanville, Gregory Don Long of Arlington and Jason Morris McCarty of Tucson, Arizona; her six great-grandchildren: Christopher Don Lewis, Thomas French, Traci French, Janet Dillard and Jessica Beach and Kaylee Nicole Ayers; her five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Morris McCarty, a daughter, Gloria Jean Long, a sister, Ima Jean Holman, and a brother, Jimmy Sauders.
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
