Ruby Ethel Williams (Childers), 87, passed away on April 29, 2023, in Murphy, Texas. She was born on August 26, 1935, to parents, Henry Childers and Sarah (Stephens) Childers in Emory, Texas.
Ruby’s long life showcased many strengths. She was among the first working women juggling job and career.
After retirement, she utilized her gift of caretaking to benefit two husbands and an older brother.
Her family can recount stories that tell of her grit, humor and compassion.
Ruby will be remembered by her daughters, Debra Sanders of Leonard, Texas, and JaNan Duncan and husband, Jack, of Royse City, Texas; son, Charlie Nassar and wife, Denise, of Quinlan, Texas; grandchildren, Nathan Heineke, Laura Barrow, Jeanah Jensen and husband, Michael, JaNel LiVigni and husband, Mark, Joshua Duncan and wife, Melissa, Jonathan Duncan and wife, Karla, Taylor Turner and husband, Johnathan, Hope Simpson, and Charlie Nassar; great grandchildren, Grayson Cady, Matilyn Cady, Gannon Cady, Faith LiVigni, Adelaide Duncan, Avalynn Duncan, Lucas Salamanca, Sophia Salamanca, Fiona Turner and Zane Turner.
She was preceded by her husbands, Gerald Williams and Charles Nassar; daughter, Treva Simpson; great grandchild, EliJah Duncan; parents, Henry and Sarah Childers; siblings, Albert Childers, Tom Childers, Buford Childers, Ruth Scroggins, and Jimmy Childers; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Leonard Cemetery. The family will welcome guests at a visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 701 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452.
In celebration of Ruby, the family requests all guests attending to wear bright colored clothing.
Pallbearers for Ruby’s service are Grayson Cady, Jonathan Duncan, Joshua Duncan, Michael Jensen, Mark LiVigni, Charlie Nassar, and Johnathan Turner.
