Ruby Charlene Sparman of Plano, Texas passed October 31, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born March 28, 1930, to Charles Stephens and Ollie Mae (Carter) Stephens in Mineral Wells, Texas. Ruby married Alden Bryce Sparman, Sr. on March 1, 1950, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Charlene was an accomplished piano player and taught piano in Sherman and Plano, Texas for fifty years. She was co-founder and the first president of the Plano Music Teachers Association. She was an avid doll collector and specialized in Campbell Soup collectables. Charlene was a member of First United Methodist of Plano.
Ruby is survived by her son, Bryce Sparman of Plano, Texas; daughter, Karen Rutledge and husband, Bill of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Rutledge and wife, Kimberly and Pamala Roach and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Hannah Rutledge and Hattie Roach; and sister, Barbara Schindler of Norman, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alden Bryce Sparman, Sr. and son, Stephen Albert Sparman.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., November 8, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
