Ruben Armijo, Sr.

Ruben Armijo, Sr. of McKinney, Texas passed away August 12, 2020 at the age of 65.  He was born on September 27, 1954 to Ernesto Armijo, Sr. and Delia (Gomez) Armijo in Edinburg, Texas. Ruben attended McKinney High School. He worked for Garland Concrete from 1973-2005 and then worked for 5 years for the City of McKinney. Ruben married Maria Arzola in 1979 in Melissa, Texas. He loved to keep his yard clean and his house well maintained. Ruben and Maria had a garden and he churned the soil every day. Even into retirement he stayed active. He was always working around the house and keeping his yard and garden in good shape. Ruben was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He was always found time to dote on his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Armijo of McKinney, Texas; sons, Christopher Armijo and wife, Monica Hernandez of Princeton, Texas and Ruben Armijo, Jr. and wife, Erica of Little Elm, Texas; daughter, Mercedes Armijo and husband, Christian Tapia of McKinney; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jade Armijo of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Alexia, Josiah Armijo, all of McKinney; siblings, Ernesto Armijo, Jr., Rachel Armijo, Angie Carmona and husband, Jesse and Juanita Reyna and husband, Michael; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Delia Armijo and his siblings, Isador Armijo, Daniel Armijo, George Armijo, and Estella Arzola.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Ruben’s obituary page.

However when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Ruben and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
