It’s with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Ruben David Quiroz, 61, on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Frisco, TX after a year long battle with plasmacytoma followed by pancreatic cancer. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by so many.
Ruben was born on December 1, 1960 in Manta, Ecuador to parents, Lourdes Isidra Calderero Quiroz and Gregorio Raul Quiroz. Ruben and his family immigrated to the United States from Ecuador in 1965 to New York City. In 1974 he made his way to Florida to be surrounded by the sun and ocean. Ruben loved fishing, hunting, traveling, movies, fast cars, jazz, rock, and later country music. Ruben loved tinkering with anything and everything including rebuilding engines and boats. He was also a lover of all animals especially his beloved Harley and Tigger. Ruben was also a lover of fine foods, enjoyed cooking, and a nice glass of red wine.
Ruben’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his sister, Maggie Becker Quiroz of Manta, Ecuador, and his three brothers; Raul Quiroz of Havre de Grace, Maryland; Toni Quiroz of Havre de Grace, Maryland; and Magno Quiroz of Manta, Ecuador. Ruben married the love of his life, Patricia, and were married for almost 19 years. They share two beautiful daughters, Kamryn and Dawson and a son Greg Quiroz of Chevy Chase, Maryland from a previous marriage. Ruben loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything for them. He will be remembered for his kindness, ability to see the good in everyone, his love for Trump and the Republican party, as well as, his compassion, love, and ability to meet challenges with a smile. He represented the good we all need in our lives.
A celebration of life will be held at the Quiroz home on April 24th from 1-4 pm.
