Roy Lee Crowder of Princeton, Texas passed away on January 25, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born on November 15, 1939 to Arvile Anderson Crowder and Beulah (Kirby) Crowder in Decatur, Tennessee. After graduating from Meigs County High School in 1959, he moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and attended Arlington State College (now the University of Texas at Arlington). Roy retired from Teledyne Geotech in Garland, Texas after many years of service as a CNC Programmer.
Roy was known for his love of motorcycles, hunting and fishing and was also an avid Elvis fan, often inflicting his love of Tennessee on all who knew him.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, with whom he was married for 55 years; daughter, Kellie Crowder Bridges and son-in-law, Brian; along with a brother, Troy Crowder of Decatur, Tennessee; sister in-law, Virginia Crowder of Decatur, Tennessee and in-laws, Carol and Don Yelton of Denison, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence Crowder, Clifford Crowder and Lloyd Crowder and sister, Mary Catlin.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to the Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, Texas 75090, for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing directives.
