Roy Don Clark

Roy Don Clark of Branch, Texas passed away on January 30, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born on February 15, 1941 to Dewey Hobson Clark and Bessie Lucille (Dickson) Clark in Kerens, Texas. Roy was raised on a farm in Kerens along with 8 brothers and sisters. He accepted Christ at a young age at Bazette Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas. Roy moved to McKinney, Texas in 1958. He worked at several retail stores, Whites Auto, Sears, Kraft Foods and Texas Instruments in engineering for 33 years until his retirement in 1997. He married Paula Ann Weaver on June 17, 1961 in McKinney, Texas. Roy was a dedicated Christian, working every aspect of the church. He was ordained as a Deacon on September 23, 1990 while serving at First Baptist Church in Lucas, Texas. Roy was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lucas, Texas.  He loved to hunt, fish and travel. He loved Christ, his family and his church family. His family will deeply miss him for he was loved so much.

Roy is survived by his wife, Paula Clark of Branch, Texas; son, Elliot Dean Clark and wife, Lori of Branch, Texas; daughters, LaDonna Diane Clark-Miller and husband, Billy of Branch, Texas and Sharron Denise Hinkley and husband, James of Edgewood, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Clark of Branch, Texas, Cody Clark and wife, Sammi of Princeton, Texas, Dustin Clark and wife, Sarah of Princeton, Texas, Ashley Clark of Branch, Texas, Jessica Norman of Princeton, Texas, Trey Norman and wife, Taylar of Savannah, Texas, Megan Jackson and husband, Heath of Heath, Texas and Jarred Morman and wife, Lauren of Canton, Texas; 15 1/3 great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Clark and wife, Jenny of Lexington, South Carolina; sister, Joyce Higginbotham of Tyler, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DH and Bessie Clark; brothers, D Hobby Clark, Frank Clark, and Otis Clark; sisters, Dorthea Twinn, Bobbie Hatley and Jo Ellen Perry.

Celebration services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2242 West Lucas Road, Lucas, Texas 75002. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorials may be made in Roy’s memory to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2242 West Lucas Road, Lucas, Texas 75002.
