Roy E. Taylor passed away in his sleep on May 9, 2008 He was born October 5th, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, to Roy and Clara Taylor. Roy served his country during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force flying B-29s in the Pacific. He married Thelma Westphal in 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. He was employed for 32 years as a supervisor at Teletype Corp. in Skokie, Illinois. Roy moved to Plano in 1982 and became very active in the community teaching Defensive Driving Classes, serving as president of the Senior Bowling League and was active at the Plano Senior Center serving on the council and playing bridge. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Thelma; daughter, Leslie Rahner and her husband, Mark of Mancos, CO; daughter, Jean Foland and her husband, John of Plano, TX; grandson, Troy Rahner and his wife, Alicia of Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter, Pamela Foland and grandson, Steven Foland both of Plano, TX. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathleen Ann, and brother, Marvin. Private memorial service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois, conducted by Rev. Otte.
