John “Roy” Hale, age 78, of McKinney, Texas passed away February 27, 2011. He was born on August 29, 1932, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to John Thomas and Edna Ethel (Ingram) Hale. On July 13, 1957, Roy married Shirley Jane Herring in Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hale of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Terri Trent and husband Carl of Edmond, Oklahoma, Toni Young and husband Todd of Allen, Texas, and Tami Parker and husband Kelly of Fairview, Texas; grandchildren, Stefanie and Aaron Trent, Heather and April Young, Blake, Colton and Clay Parker; sisters, Marjorie West and Jane Kivell, both of Sulpher Springs, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Batson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at McDermott Road Church of Christ, 3600 McDermott Road, Plano, Texas 75025. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Tuesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013.
