Roy Edward Wyckoff

Roy Edward Wyckoff, age 73, of Lebanon, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, in Plano, Texas.  He was born December 1, 1945, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Bessie Marie (Worley) and Simon Frank Wyckoff.  He attended some college in Alva, Oklahoma.

Roy was a letter carrier with the postal service for over 30 years where he retired from on December 25, 2000.  He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Navy where he served aboard 3 different ships all which were Destroyers, USS Jenkins DD-447, USS Cogswell DD-651, USS Boyd DD-544 and he earned the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam service medal with one bronze star, and the National Defense Service Medal.  He earned the rank of E-5 Torpedoman in 3 ½ years.  He was a member of The American Legion, Post 136 in Marietta Oklahoma.

Roy is survived by his brother, Albert Wyckoff of Lebanon, Oklahoma; his nieces, Tammy Bergquist of Sherman, Texas, and Nancy Mohr of Keller, Texas; his nephews, Richard Saffa and Tim Saffa, both of Sherman, Texas, and Eliot Dean Wyckoff of Ft. Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Catherine Louise Wyckoff, and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Inurnment will be held at DFW National Cemetery, with a service for friends and family, on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.
