Roy Duayne Bouldin

Roy Duayne Bouldin, age 82, of McKinney, Texas was called to his Lord on June 13, 2013. He was born June 8, 1931 in Santa Barbara, California to Wilburn Wallace and Clara (Webb) Bouldin. On May 13, 1958 he married Leah Rae Sanders in Durant, Oklahoma. Roy proudly served in the United States Armed Forces for 20 years and developed a lifetime love of flying. He spent his younger years in California and moved to Munday, Texas when he was a teenager. Roy then joined the United States Air Force. In 1955 he was based at Perrin AF Base in Texas and met his wife, Leah. He flew fighter jets F86, F102 and the F106 during his career. Roy received many awards and commendations including one for talking another pilot down to a safe landing, whose plane had been damaged.

During his Air Force career he spent time in Texas; West Berlin; Kansas City, Missouri; and in Great Falls, Montana where he retired from the Air Force in June 1970. Roy returned to Texas and made his home in Denison. He owned Roy Bouldin Real Estate with his wife for many years until his retirement in 2000.

In 2000 he and Leah moved to Midlothian, Texas to be with their son and grandsons. In 2011 they moved to McKinney to be close to their daughter and son-in-law. Roy was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney and was formerly a member of First United Methodist Church in Midlothian and Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Leah Rae Bouldin of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Denison; son, Patrick Bouldin and wife, Laurie Grace of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Wilkicki and husband, Stan of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Green Bouldin, Andrew Mitchell Bouldin, Stephanie McKethan and Jennifer Travis; great-grandchildren, Brent Travis, Lori Travis and Mason McKethan; brother, Bill Bouldin of Twenty-nine Palms, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. John Harman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
