Rosie Morrissey of Allen, Texas, passed peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 19, 1934, in Butte, Montana, she was the daughter of William S. and Cecilia Helen (Downey) Demsher.
A devoted mother, Rosie was blessed with four children — Kathy, Mike, Mark, and Colleen. She worked as a bookkeeper, most notably at Leipheimer’s in Butte and Western Security Bank in Billings before her move to Texas in 1998.
Rosie made friends easily. In her earlier years in Butte, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed being part of a local bowling team. She had a deep love for cooking and delighted in collecting recipes throughout her life. Her specialties being pasties, povitica and spaghetti sauce.
She found great joy in her roles as grandmother (“Nana”), great-grandmother (“GG”) and godmother, sharing her love with each generation. Her faith was a guiding force in her life. She was a lifelong Catholic, a member of St. Ann Parish in Butte, Holy Rosary Parish in Billings and St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. Riddick (Neil) of Allen, Texas; son, Michael J. Morrissey (Vickie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Mark W. Morrissey (Roger) of Beaverton, Oregon; daughter, Colleen M. Indreland (Trent) of Billings, Montana; grandchildren, Ryan, Kate, Sean, Heather, and Eli; great grandchildren, Asher and Julian; dear friends, Ann and Gary Piper; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sue Demsher. Rosie’s wish was to be cremated and laid to rest with her parents in Butte.
