Ronnie D. Thomason

Ronnie D. Thomason, a beloved figure in McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 8, 2024.  Born on October 14, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, Ronnie was the son of Glenn and Lola Thomason, the founder of Thomason Tire, a cherished local business established in 1954.  He dedicated his life to continuing his father’s legacy, spending every day at the tire shop, which became a second home to many in the community.

Ronnie was not only a hardworking entrepreneur but also an active and passionate member of the Kiwanis Club and the Texoma Vintage Car Club.  His involvement in these organizations reflected his commitment to community service and his love for classic cars, especially his red 1963  ½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Robbie, and wife, Lana, of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Jeri Thomason Laney, and husband, John, of McKinney, Texas;  grandchildren, Jacob Laney, and wife, Alexandra, of Princeton, Texas, Gage Thomason, of Honey Grove, Texas, and Seth Thomason, and wife, Kim of Blue Ridge, Texas; great granddaughter, Paisley Thomason; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and David Holley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Thomason, his devoted parents, Lola and Glenn Thomason, and many cherished family members.  

Ronnie’s legacy will live on through Thomason Tire and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and dedication.

A remembrance gathering will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.  Following the remembrance gathering, the procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, for the graveside service.
