IN LOVING MEMORY

Ronald Ray Brautigan

Aug 19 1937 - Jul 23 2022

It is with deep sorrow, the family of Ronald Ray Brautigan of Allen, Texas announce his passing on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the age of 84. Born on August 19, 1937 to Raymond and Frances (Fosburgh) Brautigan in Oakland, California, Ron always had a patriotic nature and joined the United States Air Force immediately after graduating from Richmond High School. He served the USAF Security Services for 23 years, earning a Bronze Star, awards, and numerous accolades; retiring in the late 70s. After serving his country, Ron worked in the telecommunications industry for 40 years before finally retiring at the age of 81.

On Christmas day in 1959, Ron married the "love of his life", Lola Faye Moyer. They met while both were serving in the United States Air Force. Together they grew and raised their family all over the world with some of their most favorites memories occurring during their assignment in Okinawa, Japan. Their commitment to each other and their family is evidenced by their almost 63 years of marriage.

Ron instilled in his kids that you worked hard, had fun, and "Family is always there for family". He was a wonderful and supportive dad and beyond anything else, his kids knew they were loved. His sense of humor was famous among family and friends. He was known for making up funny words and sayings that had no meaning or purpose but to make you laugh. Much like his favorite shows the Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy, he was full of fun and mischief.

Ron was a man of strong faith. He faithfully prayed for his family and those who might be hurting. If you shared a need with Ron, you were confident he was prayng for you. Ron loved prayer and humbly ended all his prayers with "Bless us Father, we love you with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all our strength". He read many books, but none were as worn or tired as his Bible which he devotedly read every night. But more than reading his Bible he lived by the scriptures he read. These words were his guide to living and loving those around him. His kindness and generosity of spirit shone through all his actions everyday.

Ron is survived by his wife, Lola Faye Brautigan of Allen, Texas; children, Tracy L. Janicke and husband, Jack of San Antonio, Texas, Raymond J. Brautigan of Allen, Texas, Kelly A. Brautigan of Pflugerville, Texas; and Sharyn L. King and husband, Mike of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Sharyn L.Brautigan and Cheryl A. Brayton, Jeanie Ettling, and Arlene Clark; brother, Marvin Brautigan and numerous other loving family members and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
