Ronald L. Thomas of Richardson, Texas passed away January 25, 2023, at the age of seventy-four after a brief illness.  He is predeceased by his parents, Wanda and Leon Thomas.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Brandon and his wife, Audra; grandson, Drake; and brother, Mack and his wife, Nan.

Ron was born March 5, 1948 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, but grew up primarily in Amarillo, Texas where he graduated from Tascosa High School.  He returned to Weatherford to attend school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he met his wife, Barbara, and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy.  He enjoyed a long and interesting career as a pharmacist and served as president of Dallas County Pharmacist Association 2002-2003.

One of Ron’s favorite pursuits was travel and he and Barbara enjoyed many adventures in many countries over the years.  He was particularly fascinated with France – its history, its culture, its food, and its language.  He actively studied of the French language at Alliance Francaise de Dallas, eventually becoming a fluent speaker and reader.

A memorial service will be held  at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2023 at First Baptist Richardson, 1001 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas  75080 where he was a long-time member.  In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) or the charity of your choice.
