Ronald “Ron” Foad Jabara of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 11, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born on September 10, 1933 to Joseph Jabara and Sally (Kraker) Jabara in Okemah, Oklahoma. Ron earned a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU, Ron joined The Sigma Chi Fraternity in 1952. As a Captain, Ron served in the United States Air Force as a pilot with Strategic Air Command. He married Sylvia Sutherland on May 18, 1979 in Enid, Oklahoma. Ron had a successful career with DuPont Analysis, Texas Instruments, Inc., Data Transmission Co.(Datran), and Northern Telecom (Nortel). He was also a member of the Rotary Club and St. Peters Episcopal Church in McKinney. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin, and friend, and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Sylvia Jabara; children, Lee Fortna and husband, Bob, of Reston, Virginia; Anne Gray of Calgary, Canada; and Ronald Neal Jabara and wife, Emilce of Allen, Texas; stepdaughters, Jane Athey Brown and husband, Mark, of Dallas, Texas; and Andrea Athey of Iowa; grandchildren, Daniel, Brian, Andrew, Matthew, Christopher, Megan, Mia, Lucas, and Nicolas; great-grandchildren Cameron and Luke; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Kraker Gray; father, Joseph Jabara; and stepson, Michael Athey.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 400 North College Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.
A private interment will be held at a later date at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
