Roger Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at the age of 86 in McKinney, Texas. He was born on February 11, 1938, in Thomasville, Georgia, to George Hiram Williams, Jr. and Maudie Strickland Williams.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard before marrying the love of his life, Willena King, on August 1, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Throughout his career, Roger worked diligently as a Distribution Manager for Lennox Heating and Air Industries, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to his profession. His commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

A faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas, Roger found comfort and community within his church family. He exemplified his faith through acts of kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to others.

In his leisure time, Roger found joy on the golf course, where he shared countless rounds with friends and family. His passion for the game was evident in the camaraderie he fostered and the memories he created.

Roger will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents George Hiram Williams, Jr. and Maudie Strickland Williams; brothers, Carroll Williams and Dean Williams; sister-in-law, Billie Williams; brothers-in-law, Archie Barrineau and Roy Hancock.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Willena Williams; daughter, Monica Lyn Swanson and husband, Carl Herbert Swanson; grandchildren, Carl Roger Swanson and Caitlyn Sarah Swanson; sister, Jackie Lee Hancock; sister-in-law, Mozell Williams; nieces: Teresa Williams Shiver (Rex), Angie Barrineau Nycamp (Tom), Georgie Barrineau Barrett (Carlos), Sandra Phillips; nephews: Jeffrey Williams (Tammy), Bart Williams (Hope), Bret Williams (Angie), Brad Williams (Jan), Randy Barrineau (Michelle), Mark Phillips, Scott Phillips (Laura), and a host of other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church McKinney located at 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. The service will also be livestreamed at the following link:   http://sharingtheheart.org/ceremonies.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society Dallas in Roger's memory.
