IN LOVING MEMORY

Roger Lewis Goodin

Jun 12 1935 - Jun 09 2018

Roger Lewis Goodin 82, of McKinney, Texas, quietly passed away on June 9, 2018 after battling prostate cancer.  He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a 1954 graduate of Wausau Senior High, where he was active in multiple sports.  Roger joined the USAF in September of 1954 where he would stay for 20 years.  After a distinguished career in the military, he would make another career with the State of Wyoming, where he would again retire for a second time.  He married Mary Ann Synnott in December of 1956 and was a devoted husband for 54 years until his wife’s death on March 15, 2011.  He loved spending time with his family, friends and pets.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and his passions included making candy and jerky.  He spent the majority of his adult life in Cheyenne, Wyoming and after retiring to Roswell, New Mexico, relocated to McKinney, Texas where he spent the last four years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lenore (Bedard) Goodin; his brother, Ron Goodin (Jackie); and an infant son, Matthew.

He is survived by his two daughters, Laura Stevens of McKinney, Texas and Lisa Goodin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his granddaughter, Ashley Cerrano-Stevens (Ashley) of Howell, New Jersey, brother, Tim Goodin (Nancy) of MN; sister, Patricia Goodin of FL; eight nieces/nephews; and many extended family members; as well as his loyal dog and faithful friend, Roxy.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by all.  The family would like to extend their warmest appreciation and deepest gratitude to Baylor Scott & White and to Park Manor for their kindness and care, and to all of our family and friends.  Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Allen, Texas however there will not be an open memorial service at this time.  A private service will be held this fall in Wyoming.

Condolences may be made to the family on the online registry at TJMfuneral.com.  Donations in Roger’s honor may be made to the ASCPA at https://secure.aspca.org/team/roger-goodin-memorial-campaign
