In deepest sorrow and with regret we announce the passing of Roger Joseph Muckerheide, Jr., age 73, of Plano, Texas. Roger was born March 24, 1944 and deceased November 9, 2017.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Roger Joseph Muckerheide, Sr., mother, Ruth Anne (Klein) Muckerheide, and “Bart”, his canine best friend.

Roger (“Rusty” to family and childhood friends) is survived by his beloved bride of 36 years Laura (Detzel) Muckerheide, daughter Sarah Garrison with husband Ben, sisters Ellen Flynn and Jane Dillon-Perkl with husband Ken, brothers-in-law Paul Detzel with wife Denice and John Detzel; as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces, and four-legged friend “Jeb”.

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and moved with his parents to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as an infant where he grew up and went to school. While still in Wisconsin, Roger was able to follow his love for music and sang in a band under the stage name Russ Wilder. In 1974 he moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to pursue his avocation as an antique arms dealer and follow his other passion, the Old West. This led to a lifetime career in sales.

Roger was a collector of antique American firearms, Western art and sculpture, antique furniture and other neat stuff. He was an NRA Life Member, TGCA Life Member, DACA Life Member along with various other collecting fraternities where he established many lifelong friendships.

A Celebration of Life Gathering is planned for March 24th, 2018 (Roger’s 74th birthday) from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.

But now, this is what the Lord says . . . “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)
