Roger Dale Brandenburg

Roger Dale Brandenburg of McKinney, Texas entered fully into the presence of the Lord on May 29, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born on September 25, 1941 to Norman Dale Brandenburg and Garnet Kathleen (Donaldson) Brandenburg in Dayton, Ohio. Roger grew up in Fairborn, Ohio where he attended school and was a 1959 graduate of Fairborn High School. Roger married Blanca Elena Contreras on December 31, 1964 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona.  He served his country proudly in the United States Naval Reserve. Roger had a prosperous career as a Computer Systems Programmer working for Pima County, Plains Cotton Co-Op, American Express, and Ciber Global Consulting. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to 50’s Rock ’n Roll music, collecting coins, watching sports, and dancing. Roger gravitated to water and loved fishing and swimming. He was a devoted husband and father and adored spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roger loved the Lord and was a devout Christian.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Blanca Elena (Contreras) Brandenburg of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Marie Trahan and husband, Jude of McKinney, Texas; son, Michael Francis Brandenburg and wife, Kim of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Alexandre Trahan, Andres Trahan, Marquez Brandenburg, Vivian Brandenburg, and Ramón Brandenburg; brothers, Duane Brandenburg, Michael Brandenburg and wife, Charlotte, and Sammy Davis and wife, Theresa; sister, Carol Stephenson; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Roger was survived by his mother, Garnet Kathleen Davis of Fairborn, Ohio at the time of his passing and with deep sorrow the family would like to share that his mother has joined him in Heaven on June 3, 2021.  The service will be live streamed at the following link; https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/roger-dale-brandenburg and will also be available for viewing on the obituary site after the service.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Norman Dale Brandenburg.

“He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.” Proverbs 2:7-8

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
