Rodolfo "Bong" Liad

Rodolfo “Bong” Liad of Allen, Texas passed away December 28, 2022. He was born on March 8, 1959, in Manila Philippines, where he was also raised. Rodolfo met his wife Charito just before he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Philippines Christian University. Rodolfo and Charito got married on January 4, 1984 in Manila. He was a dedicated husband who cherished every moment spent with his beautiful soul mate. While in the Philippines, he worked as a state auditor.

Rodolfo and Charito started their family with the birth of their daughter, Camille. Their family grew as they welcomed Joannah and Bernard. In 1994, Rodolfo and Charito moved to Laredo, Texas and eventually moved to the North Texas area. While in Texas their family was blessed with two more children, James and Anna.

Rodolfo was the life of the party everywhere he went. He had an infectious smile that could brighten the room. He loved being active and being present at all of his children’s events and achievements. In Texas, Rodolfo worked as a driving instructor and his students always enjoyed his classes. He would go out and about town and was frequently stopped by his past students who loved catching up with him. He was also actively involved in the local Filipino community where he took great pride in his culture and tradition. Rodolfo loved raising and taking care of his family with the delicious meals he made, the beautiful garden he kept, and all the little side skills he undertook and mastered. This love of family continued by being a devoted Pop Pop to his grandkids. Rodolfo will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His iconic smile will always be remembered, and his joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of many blessed to know him.

Rodolfo is survived by his wife, Charito Liad of Allen, Texas; Children, Camille Williams and husband, Kevin of Allen, Texas, Joannah Harbeck and husband, Clayton of San Diego, California, Bernard Liad and husband, Alex of Grapevine, Texas, James Liad of Allen, Texas, and Anna Larson and husband, Conor of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Cassey Williams, Ryker Harbeck, Cam Williams, and Kaden Williams; sisters, Marina Alonso, Bernadette Navaja, Leni Advincula, Cecille Mercado, Pinky Miguel, and Pat Makalinao.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Bernardo Liad and Generosa Dadia; brothers, Boy Liad and Bobby Liad; sister, Tes Liad.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday January 4, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, 75013.
