Rodney Syke Dunn, age 85, passed away November 11, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 29, 1939, in Valdasta, Texas, to his loving parents Thomas Syke Dunn and Catherine Lucille (Caudell) Dunn.

Rodney grew up in the McKinney / Princeton area of North Texas. He was a machinist by trade, being employed with Stewart Systems for twenty years. Rodney retired from Alcatel-Lucent after working for that company for six years.

Rodney met the love of his life, Paula Kay Nelson. They shared a beautiful, enduring partnership that was built on love and commitment. Their wedding in McKinney, Texas, on May 29, 1961, marked a special moment in their lives, and their journey together, raising Robbin and Wayne, brought them years of joy and countless cherished memories.

Rodney is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robbin and Kevin Ford, of Farmersville, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Charla Dunn, of Prosper, Texas; grandsons, Andy Dunn (Courtney), of Plano, Texas, Zachary Pulliam, of Denton, Texas, and Ethan Pulliam (Tori), of Anna, Texas; great grandchildren, Huck and Dallas Dunn, and Brooke, Briar, and Bowie Pulliam; brothers, Boyd Dunn (Shirley), Leo Dunn (Donna), and Jackie Dunn (Carol); and a host of family members and friends, who will forever cherish his memory.

Rodney was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Kay Dunn; parents, Thomas and Catherine Dunn; and sister, Marjorie Hague.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11444 Farm to Market Road 2478, Celina, Texas.
