IN LOVING MEMORY

Roderick "Rod" Lynn Davis

May 06 1968 - Feb 08 2016

Roderick “Rod” Lynn Davis, age 47, of Celina, Texas passed away on February 8, 2016, after fighting with grace and courage a 6 ½ year battle with esophageal cancer. He was born on May 6, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio to Sterling Davis, Jr. and Connie S. House. On August 1, 1987 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Rod married Tracie Ann Peters. Rod was co-owner of Davis Signature Homes along with his wife Tracie.

Rod’s passion of baseball was passed along to both of his boys, he enjoyed coaching them when they were young and enjoyed watching them play ball through high school. Rod enjoyed his friends and family and had a sharp mind for business. He took particular pride in the way he treated people knowing that if he treated everyone fairly they would do the same. He was a very astute business person and strived for absolute perfection in his and Tracie’s product, never settling for second best. His sons were his absolute pride. He loved to discuss what they were doing and he loved his friends’ children as well. Always taking interest in them and what they were doing. One of Rod’s greatest strengths was his sense of humor even as he fought to protect his family and friends from what he knew was his passing.

Rod is survived by his wife, Tracie Davis of Celina, Texas; two sons, Justin Davis of Prosper, Texas and Tanner Davis of Celina, Texas; mother, Connie Gilliland and her husband, Michael Gilliland of Moore, Oklahoma; father, Sterling Davis, Jr. of W.
