Roberta Foulk Matthews of Plano, Texas passed away January 28, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born to Lurline Corita and Robert Tempest Foulk on May 1, 1929 at home in Barrington, New Jersey.
Roberta, better known as “Bobbie”, graduated from Hatboro High School in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, Class of 1947. In 1955, she married Robert T. Matthews, and they lived on Meadowbrook Lane in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In 1985, they moved to Plano, Texas as Robert accepted a position at Texas Instruments.
Bobbie enjoyed painting country folk art, knitting, and was an avid reader. She also loved Bible study, traveling, and spending time with her family. Cooking and baking were some of her favorite hobbies, and she found joy in sharing those things with others.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy McMullen and husband, William of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Heather McMullen of Elko, Nevada; and granddaughter, Melissa McHale and husband, Matt of Brisbane, Australia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Dee Bowell and June Fallon.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, February 3, at the funeral home.
