Roberta Allen

September 3, 1921 - June 16, 2013

Roberta Allen of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 16, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born September 3, 1921, in Howe, Texas, to David Franklin and Bessie Robert (Epperson) Douglas. On April 10, 1941, Roberta married Alfred J. Allen, Jr. in McKinney. She was a member of First Christian Church in McKinney.

She is survived by her son, Robert C. Allen, of McKinney; grandchildren, John Allen and wife Sherri of Allen, Texas, Sandi Mason and husband Gregg of Farmersville, Texas, Cheryl Beth Clark and husband John Mark of Anna, Texas; great-grandchildren, Parker Mason, Caleb Clark, Joshua Clark, Brandi Boyd, Carrie Ross and Joshua Welch; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, D.F. and Betsy Douglas; husband, Alfred J. “Po-One” Allen, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Terry Allen Battle.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday morning.
