Robert Howard Landry of Plano, Texas passed away on January 14, 2022 at the age of 79. He was born on November 4, 1942 to Robert Dean Landry and Lorene (Pedigo) Landry in Hackberry, Louisiana. Robert graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He married Mira Juanita Johnson in Hackberry, Louisiana. Robert Landry served in the United States Army including combat time in Vietnam. He had a career in water and waste water engineering with equipment spanning across the United States. After retirement, Robert volunteered as a member of the Citizens Assisting Plano Police Department (CAPPS). He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas for 18 years and was an ordained deacon, usher, and Director of Fellowship Bible Class.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mira Landry of Plano, Texas. His brothers, Gerald Landry of Hackberry, Louisiana and Jeff Landry of Pasadena, Texas. His daughter-in-law Ann Landry of Harvest, Alabama. His sons, Marlon Landry and wife, Amanda of McAlester, Oklahoma and Hunter Landry and wife, Stacey of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan and husband, Devin Linnell, Parker Landry, Makayla O’Shield, Preston Landry, Noah Landry and Malachi Landry; great-grandchildren, Taydem Linnell and Castlynn Linnell.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Damon Landry; sister, Judy Landry and his parents, Robert and Lorene Landry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 West Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75093 at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, with a family visitation 30 minutes prior to the Celebration of Life service. Interment will be at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 200 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211 at 2:00 p.m..
