Robert Winfield Wadeking

Robert Winfield Wadeking of Plano, Texas passed away October 26, 2024 at the age of 80.  He was born to Robert Waymond and Mary Margaret (Winfield) Wadeking on September 15, 1944 in Paducah, Kentucky.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sue Wadeking of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kelly Lozano of Little Elm, Texas; son, Rob Wadeking and wife Maegan of Farmersville, Texas; son, Todd Wadeking of Plano, Texas; grandson, Abel Lozano and partner Chaney Redding of Lufkin, Texas; granddaughter, Dani Lozano; granddaughter, Kinsey Wadeking; grandson, Aidan Hill; and great granddaughter, Violet Lozano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Wadeking and sister, Carol Wadeking Boyle.

During the late 1960's, Bob served in the United States Navy as a sonar technician on the USS Somers.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he began working for his father's wholesale jewelry business in Memphis, Tennessee.  This required him to travel extensively in several southern states including Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas making sales calls or creating displays for jewelry shows at various types of conventions.

Bob and Sue were married on December 16, 1972.  Soon afterwards, they settled in Texas with their young family where he began a new business venture in the home construction business.  As a general contractor, building houses became one of the great creative satisfactions of his life.

His knowledge of construction aided him greatly when he later made a career change to property insurance adjusting until retirement in 2012.  Bob assisted families in Florida, Alabama, California, Louisiana and Texas in resolving their property claims following hurricanes, floods, hail storms and earthquakes. 

His true passions in life were his family and work.  After retirement, he loved reading, classic cars, watching Rangers Baseball, and enjoying his grandchildren.

Bob will be remembered by his beloved family and friends for his everlasting dedication to his family, his gentle nature, his sense of humor, and his incredible work ethic.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
