Robert William Howard, Sr. of Fairview, Texas passed away on October 22, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born on September 1, 1932 to Dowcy and Ethel (Gay) Howard in Jacksonville, Florida. Robert married Jean Arena on July 19, 1952 in Queens, New York. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert was a Purple Heart recipient and was very active in veteran’s organizations in New York. He was a mason where he was a Potentate in W. Babylon, New York. Robert worked as an accountant for Long Island Railroad for 32 years. He was member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Howard of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Cathy Kilpatrick and husband, Micky of Princeton, Texas; son, Robert William Howard, Jr. and wife, Geraldine of Glenrock, New Jersey; grandchildren, Jessica Kilpatrick, Grace Kilpatrick, Matthew Howard and Stephanie Howard; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dowcy and Ethel Howard; grandson, Wil Kilpatrick; one brother; two sisters; and aunt, Clara Gay Highsmith, who was just like his mother.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
