IN LOVING MEMORY

Robert S. Schnitman

Oct 09 1928 - Jan 15 2006

Robert Schnitman went to be with his Lord on January 15, 2006 after a brief illness. Even though his illness was painful and frightening, he leaves his family with fond memories of laughter and love during his final two weeks. Robert was born in Buffalo, New York on October 9, 1928, and graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Buffalo. Robert served three years in the United States Marine Corps, and pursued a 30 year career with Equitable Life Assurance Society. He married Sally Snodgrass in 1951, and faithfully provided for his wife and children. He and Sally were extremely gifted parents, and left their children with tremendous life lessons. Bob and Sally were inseparable even unto death. The hospital staff commented on the uniqueness of their family. After retiring in 1983, he and Sally enjoyed traveling around the country and abroad. They also enjoyed wood working and making furniture. His insurance career started in Buffalo, NY, then took him to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and finally to Dallas, TX. Robert was a district manager for Equitable, and had a unique gift to teach others how to serve their clients. After leaving management, he taught himself how to administer retirement plans. His two sons, Nathan and Paul, joined him in the life insurance business and ultimately in the Pension business which they continue today. He had excellent financial management skills and was highly respected by his clients. Robert is survived by his wife Sally, after 54 years of marriage. Also surviving him are their six children and their spouses: daughter Lynn Terrazas and husband Richard, daughter Sandy Mason and husband Carl, son Nathan and wife Nena, son Paul and wife Donna, daughter Kim and husband Ken, and daughter Michelle and husband Rick. He’s survived by 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and expecting two more great grandchildren in 2006.
