Robert Allen Paelke, age 62, of Plano, Texas passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 21, 2010. Rob was born on December 3, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to Norman and Tillie (Banko) Paelke. He grew up in Detroit and married Lynn Brooke McVey on February 11, 1967. They moved to Plano in 1975 where together they raised three children. Rob was an avid baseball fan since childhood, enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball team and was a loyal Rangers’ fan. He played tennis for many years and always had a love for books. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife during her battle with breast cancer, which sadly came to an end in 2003. Rob’s children and seven grandchildren adored him and always looked forward to time spent with him. In more recent years, Rob enjoyed book collecting and spending time gardening, cooking and traveling with his girlfriend. He was treasured by his family and will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved him. Rob is survived by his daughter, Angie Cochrum and husband Brent, of McKinney, Texas; daughter Laura Madden of Frisco, Texas; son, Chris Paelke and wife Cori, of McKinney, Texas; girlfriend, Donna Callaway, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew Cook, Tara Cook, Olivia Madden, Nicholas Madden, Ryon George, Shane Paelke, and Garrett Paelke; and a host of other loving family and friends. His wife, parents and brother preceded him in death. Services are scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2010, at CrossPoint Church, 2101 Stonebridge Dr., McKinney, Texas. Visitation: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 p.m.
