Robert “Bob” Lyola McGee, age 70, of Coppell, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was born April 29, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Marion (Peter) and Lyola McGee. Bob married Kathy McGee in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 27, 1974, and they had two children. Bob was an amazing father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. He enjoyed following all Iowa Hawkeye sports, watching Texas Rangers baseball, attending all of his grandkids’ school and sports events, commissioning MadDog fantasy football league and all the adventures of life. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Erin Hilton and her husband, Randy, of Gunter, Texas, and his son, BJ McGee and his wife, Kami, of Argyle, Texas; his grandchildren, Braden Hilton, Abigail Hilton and Maggie McGee; his father, Lyola McGee; his sister, Rosie Behnke and her husband, Curt; his brothers, Dick McGee and his wife, Teresa, and Randy McGee and his wife, Laurie; as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy McGee, and his mother, Marion McGee.
The family invites friends to a visitation being held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Sunday, June 23, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Parish, 180 Samuel Blvd., Coppell, Texas, on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Interment follows at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas.
