Robert Lynn Hodges was born on October 10, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Leonard and Dorothy Hodges. Raised in Livingston, Texas, Robert developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and baseball. His childhood was filled with adventures alongside his best friend, Petey Thomas, and cherished time spent surrounded by close family and friends. These early years helped shape the values of friendship, loyalty, hard work, and family that would define the rest of his life.
After graduating from Livingston High School, Robert attended Texas A&M University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction. His time in Aggieland marked the beginning of a lifelong devotion to Texas A&M, its traditions, and his beloved Aggies. He carried the Aggie spirit with him throughout his life, taking great pride in the university and the friendships and relationships it brought him.
Following graduation, Robert embarked on an accomplished 39-year career in the commercial construction industry. Beginning as a project engineer, he steadily advanced through project management and into senior executive leadership. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of colleagues and industry peers through his extensive knowledge, strong work ethic, and dedication to excellence. His experience spanned major commercial construction projects throughout Texas, with expertise in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. He was currently the Vice President and Program Manager for the Texas Building Group of Archer Western leading the DFW Airport Terminal F and Terminal C projects. His contributions to the industry extended far beyond the buildings he helped construct, leaving a lasting impact through the relationships he built, the people he mentored, and the example he set.
Robert was also deeply committed to serving his profession and community. He was an active member and leader in numerous organizations, including Leadership Plano, Circle Ten Council, TEXO, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Dallas Builders Association's Multifamily division, the Lean Construction Institute and currently serving as President of the Texas A&M Construction Industry Advisory Council. Through his involvement, Robert shared his experience, supported future generations of construction professionals, and remained dedicated to an industry that meant so much to him.
Above all else, Robert's greatest accomplishment and deepest source of pride was his family. In 2003, he married the love of his life, Lara Hodges, with whom he built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and shared memories. Together, they raised two sons, Chase and Charlie, who were his absolute pride and joy. While Robert achieved much throughout his professional life, nothing brought him greater happiness than being a husband and father. His love for Lara, Chase, and Charlie was at the center of everything he did.
Robert will be remembered for his dedication to those he loved, his passion for the outdoors, his unwavering Aggie spirit, and the lasting relationships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy lives on not only through his professional accomplishments, but through the family he cherished, the friendships he maintained, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
