Robert Kendall King, 56, passed away peacefully June 1, 2023, at his home in Plano, Texas with his mother and father at his side.  He was born to Jerry and Joy (Browning) King on September 26, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ken graduated from Kingwood High School in 1984, where he was the Salutatorian and a National Merit Scholar. He went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and his Bachelor of Arts degree, both of which he graduated with Honors in 1989.

Ken started his career as a Hardware Engineer for Convex Computer in 1989 and earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Dallas while working full time.  Convex was acquired by Hewlett Packard and later his group became part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he retired from in 2017 as a Senior R&D Project Manager.  Ken was highly regarded and respected by his peers as an intelligent and dedicated Engineer and Manager that had a passion to be a great servant and leader.

Ken enjoyed travelling, photography and the arts, and made many trips overseas.  He loved music, driving his high-performance car and attending Texas Longhorns football games.  He regularly joined friends for trivia, golf and sampling craft beers.  

Ken is survived by his parents, Jerry and Joy King of Kingwood, Texas; brother Devin King and his wife Julie and son Caden of Danville, CA, brother Jay King and his wife Christine and daughters Vivian and Stella of San Diego, California. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
