IN LOVING MEMORY

Big Bobby Johnson

Feb 18 1951 - May 29 2022

Robert “Big Bobby” Johnson, age 71, of Frisco, Texas passed away on May 29, 2022, surrounded by his family. Bobby was born on February 18, 1951, in McKinney, Texas to Georgia Faye (Frizzelle) and Walemon Lee “Dub”Johnson.

Bobby was a member of the Frisco High School class of 1969. He married Dianne Redmon on May 30, 1970 and they made a beautiful life together for 52 years.

Bobby worked as a Railroad Engineer and later worked as the Parks Manager for the City of Frisco. He retired from the City of Frisco in 2014.

Bobby loved baseball and softball. He coached youth sports when his kids were young and was a constant fan at his grandkids ballgames. Those who knew him well, called him the “crappy whisperer”, especially his friends at the Cottonwood Creek Marina. He loved to fish and hunt. Bobby was a huge TCU fan and was so thankful that his daughter-in-law and three of his grandchildren attended TCU and bled Purple, as well! Go Frogs!

Big Bobby’s most precious things in life were his family. He loved Dianne, their two boys and families more than life itself and could be found at dance recitals, stock-shows, ballgames, and/or any other place Dianne told him he needed to be, on any given day.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Dianne Johnson, his two sons, Bobby Johnson Jr. and his wife, Misti; Eric Johnson and his wife, Mindi; his five grandchildren, Hannah Olivia Beam, her husband, Nathan Beam; Hunter Redmon Johnson, Ronnie Hope Johnson, and Elliott Grace Johnson.

Big Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Johnathan Dedrick Johnson; his parents, Georgia and Walemon “Dub” Johnson and his sister, Reba Phillips.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Frisco, 7901 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75034 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
