Robert John Gormley of Plano, Texas passed away on October 21, 2018 at the age of 73. He was born on November 21, 1944 to Robert Edward and Verna Sherwood (Traub) Gormley in Rochester, New York. Bob grew up in Spokane, Washington. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Bob graduated from The University of Texas, Dallas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Xerox for many years and later worked for Intel and Dallas Semiconductor, where he retired. After retirement, Bob worked in real estate. His hobbies included Ham Radio, fishing and hot air balloons. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Community. Bob was a genuine, graciously kind, easy going, loving father and grandfather and a friend to many.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Christi Davidson and husband, John, Kelly Honrobia and husband, Bo all of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Gormley, Kahleia Honrobia, Mikayla Davidson, Parker Davidson and J. D. Davidson; sister, Barbara Gormley of Spokane, Washington; brother-in-law, William O’Connell and wife, Valerie; sister-in-law, Patricia Collyer and husband, Richard; former wife, Norma Langston of Plano, Texas; her daughter, Kathy Randall and husband, John of Plano, Texas; their children, Charles Randall, Benjamin Randall, David Randall and Julianne Randall; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verna Gormley; his first wife, Betty O’Connell Gormley; and his brother, William Gormley.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
