Robert Morrison Cady

Robert Morrison Cady, 89, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in Allen, Texas.  He was born on February 9, 1937, in Toronto, Canada, to his loving parents, George Walter Cady and Gladys Lavina (Morrison) Cady. Robert was raised in Canada and proudly served in the Canadian Navy for five years.

Robert later built a career in the wholesale gift industry, where he worked in sales and developed many lasting relationships throughout the years. On June 12, 1999, he married the love of his life, Katherine Elaine Smith, in Richardson, Texas. Together, they shared many years of love, companionship, and cherished memories.

A significant part of Robert’s life was his dedication to Alcoholics Anonymous. For 64 years, he was actively involved in AA and devoted himself to helping others find hope and recovery. His willingness to share his experience, strength, and encouragement touched the lives of many, and he found great meaning in supporting those on their own journeys toward recovery.

Robert was also a man of faith who enjoyed reading the Bible and found comfort and inspiration in its teachings. He will be remembered for his caring heart, his service to others, his steadfast faith, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.

Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy Cady, of Allen, Texas; children, Kevin Cady, Robert “Bobby” Cady, both of Canada, Kris Eaton and wife, Josie of Cranfills Gap, Texas, and Amy Hudgins and husband, Kenny of Fort Hood, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Bilyeu, Kenneth Hudgins and wife, Faith, Kasey Hudgins and wife, Melissa, Ka’lah Montiel and husband, Rudy, and Khloe Hudgins; great grandchildren, Nova Hudgins, Luka Montiel, Lara Hudgins, Lily Robertson, Brielle Robertson, and Christian Robertson; sister-in-law, Lisa Collier and Robert Felts of Allen, Texas; brothers-in-law, Steve Smith and wife, Teresa of Anna, Texas, and Frank Smith and wife, Carolyn of Greenville, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and the many friends and individuals whose lives he touched and helped along the way.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Cady.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/robert-morrison-cady. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.  

The family will receive guests during a visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the funeral home.
