Robert “Bob" McWherter of McKinney , TX went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2016 after a long but valiant battle with cancer. He was 65. He was born in his beloved Austin to Robert Clayton McWherter and Marianna (Sluder) McWherter. He studied at the University of Texas and Abilene Christian College. He married Sandra McWherter Sepetember 18, 1977 and they were married for 39 years.
His long real estate career began in 1973. He worked residential real estate, commercial real estate, mortgage, new home building sales and management. In 2000 he established his own brokerage, Purchaser’s Advantage Realtors. As the Broker/Owner he helped thousands of people over the years fulfill their dream of home ownership. He was an active member of Christ Fellowship Church in McKinney. He was involved with various outreach and ministry programs.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra McWherter of McKinney, Texas; children, Jeff Boyce and wife Jennifer of Tyler, Jason Boyce and wife Allison of Plano, Texas, Amy Pruett and husband Trent of Davao City, Philippines; grandchildren, Brittany Boyce, Dylan Boyce, Katy Boyce, Shane Boyce, Tessa Boyce, Jackson McWherter Pruett, Braden Pruett, Trinity Pruett and Liberty Pruett; mother, Marianna McWherter of Georgetown, Texas; sisters, Kay Walker also of Georgetown, Texas, Gail Kent of Jacksonville, Texas, Mary Anna McWherter-Payne of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Wendy East of Jacksonville, Texas; many other loving family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert Clayton McWherter.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2016 at Christ Fellowship Church, 2801 Orchid Drive in McKinney, Texas.
