TSgt. Robert Clyde Blazer Born February 16, 1926 in McKinney, Texas; died October 15, 2005 in McKinney, Texas. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Valda Blazer, father Robert Crisley Blazer, mother Alice Unav Blazer, and daughter-in-law Kathy Wyman. Robert is survived by his children Karen Rogers and husband Jimmy, Gilbert Wyman and wife Priscilla, and Douglas Wyman; brother Harold Eugene Blazer and wife Eula Dean; niece Cristie Blazer; grandchildren Patti Wyman, Stacy Wyman, Jennifer Patrick, Jesse Wyman, Dougie Wyman, Randi Wyman, and Kolton Taylor; as well as 9 great grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. Robert began his military career in 1944 with the Marines and went on to serve in the Army before joining the Air Force in 1954. He retired from the Air Force August 1, 1965 after 21 years of active duty. During his career he served in combat in Okinawa, Guadalcanal, China, Korea and Japan. He received numerous decorations and medals during his career. After his military service, he began a career with the Texas State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and retired in 1987 after 22 years of service. He will be missed by all who were given the gift of knowing him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
