Healthy High School where he played trombone in the marching band and was a member of the varsity basketball team.

Upon graduation, Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force which inspired his interest in engineering. After his four-year term of service, he returned to Cincinnati where he worked for General Electric and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. During this time, he met the love of his life Hazel May Martin and they were united in marriage in 1964. The young couple relocated to Richardson, Texas to build their life together when Bob was offered a position with Texas Instruments.

Bob dedicated himself to an inspiring career with Texas Instruments that spanned more than thirty years. He led several teams in advancing the design and development of microchips in the semiconductor industry while also completing his Masters in Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University. During his career, Bob held 14 patents for innovative technology and was awarded the esteemed title of TI Senior Fellow.

Bob was also dedicated to family life and he and Hazel raised three children. In 1978, the family built a home in Lucas, Texas. He spent his free time pursuing passions such as raising cattle, gardening, and golfing. He served on the volunteer board of the McKinney Pinto Riding Club where he encouraged children and families to enjoy developing horsemanship skills. He was an avid sports fan and spent countless hours attending games for the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. His adventurous spirit took him on numerous travels to many different countries.

Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father and papa. He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Lucas, Texas; his three children, Bob Stehlin, Jr. of Lucas Texas, Christy Stehlin and husband, David Pierce of Buda, Texas, and Troy Stehlin and wife, Laura of Lucas, Texas; three adored grandchildren, Lorelei, Julia, and Travis Pierce; and his sister, Joann Behr of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lou Pelz of Jacksonville, Florida.
