Ricky Don Walters of Plano, Texas passed away on November 3, 2019 at the age of 71. He was born on March 6, 1948 to Eddie Wylie and Oreta May (Farley) Walters in Altoga, Texas. Ricky proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for the City of Richardson for 35 years before retiring. Ricky loved blue grass and country music. He had a 1965 corvette which he drove to car shows. Ricky was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved working with numbers and remembering birthdates; we called him Rikipedia. Ricky was a strong, quiet man who loved his family. He fought the good fight for nine years with his health. Ricky was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his brothers, Eddie Herman Walters and wife, Sandy of McKinney, Texas and Jesse Lee Walters of Mount Alba, Texas; sisters, Anita Starnes and husband, Claudy of McKinney, Texas, Helen Murray of McKinney, Texas, Caroline Watkins of McKinney, Texas, and Donna Mills and husband, Bruce of Garland, Texas; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Oreta Walters; and sister, Sylvia Stewart.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, November 8, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
