Ricky Lynn Sharp of Plano, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 80.
Ricky was born on August 1, 1946, in Tulia, Texas, to Isham Charles and Mildred Maureen Whitehurst Sharp. His childhood was spent on the family farm, and he later attended Texas Tech University, where he earned a degree in Finance.
In January of 1968, Ricky met Charlotte Anne Wells on a blind date, and on June 21 they were wed at The First Baptist Church of Tulia. Their 58 years together were filled with travel, family, and immense devotion to one another.
His defining career in banking spanned 43 years and across Odessa, San Angelo, Lubbock, and Plano. The vast majority of this time was spent in Trust and Private Client Services with Norwest/Wells Fargo, overseeing Texas and New Mexico.
A devout Christian, Ricky was a life-long member of the Southern Baptist Church. For the past 20 years, he worshiped at Hunters Glen Baptist Church where he and Charlotte found a loving fellowship and community.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Tamara Saunders Church and husband, Scott of Phoenix, and Emily Benzing and husband, Joseph of Euless; grandchildren, Noor Benzing, Reed Benzing, Max Benzing, and Autumn Saunders; sister, Rosemary Pierce of Shawnee, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Mary Dell Sharp of Lubbock; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isham and Mildren Sharp, and his brother, Charles Sharp.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/ricky-lynn-sharp. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
An open reception will be held after the service at The Sharp Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The North Texas Food Bank or The Alzheimer’s Association in Ricky’s honor.
