Rickie Glenn Thomas, Sr., 72, passed away May 7, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on November 27, 1953, in McKinney, Texas, to his loving parents Fred Thomas and Rosella Laderne (May) Thomas.
Rickie graduated from Princeton High School in 1972 and went on to build a strong work ethic and lasting friendships throughout his life. He dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service, working first as a letter carrier for 12 years before continuing his career in vehicle maintenance in Plano. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dependability, kindness, and willingness to help others.
On December 8, 2000, Rickie married the love of his life, Kathy Gail Jenkins, in Rowlett, Texas. Together they shared many cherished memories, laughter, and a deep devotion to one another. Rickie will be remembered for his caring heart, steady presence, and the love he had for his family and friends..
Rickie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathy Thomas, of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Christy Welborn (Johnny) of Princeton, Texas; son, Ricky Thomas (Kathryn) of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Brycen Welborn (Madison), Kenadee Welborn, Haven Welborn, Shawna Thomas, Sierra Thomas, Savana Thomas, and Weston Thomas; sister, Frances Norris (JB); brother, Dickie Thomas (Betty); and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and fondly keep his memory in their hearts.
Rickie was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rosella Thomas; grandparents, Effie Florance Love Thomas, John Henry Thomas, Ersel Sims May, and John May; twin siblings, Lloyd Ray Thomas and Shirley Fay Thomas.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
