Rick Herford, age 60, of Plano, Texas, passed away April 21, 2009 in Plano. Rick was born June 24, 1948 in Waldo, Arkansas and adopted by Byron August and Mary (Davis) Herford. He married Patricia Ann Patton on December 27, 1971 in Richardson, Texas. Rick was a welder with Intercontinental Manufacturing for over twenty years. He loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid gun collector. Rick proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his daughters, Dian Fergeson of Denton, Texas and Bonnie Herford of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Parker Rae Fergeson; mother, Mary Herford of Beaumont, Texas; and sister, Jeri Herford, also of Beaumont. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Herford in 2002, and father Byron Herford. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 A.M., Friday, April 24, 2009, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA or the National Parks Association.
