Richard J. Wiencek of Dallas, Texas passed away on April 18, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born on August 15, 1938 to Stanley and Cecilia (Kowalski) Wiencek in Detroit, Michigan. Richard attended high school in Hamtramck, Michigan before joining the United States Navy in 1955 where he served for four years. After being discharged from the Navy, Richard graduated from Oklahoma State University where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. Richard went to work for General Dynamics after graduation, and then Texas Instruments in the mid-1960s until 1978. He then worked for Computer Language Research as an Executive Vice President from 1978 until retirement in 1998. In retirement, he started his own homebased business with his wife, Maureen, that they operated until 2019. Richard could fix just about anything in need of repair and was also a fan of golf, both playing in his younger years and watching in his following years.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen June (Moss) Wiencek. His children, James Michael Wiencek, Rebecca Jane Williams, John Philip Wiencek, William Bradley Scales and Alice Elizabeth Richardson; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Martin Wiencek and wife, Laura and Thomas Wiencek; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Cecilia Wiencek.
A remembrance gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas located 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A graveside inurnment will follow at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
