Richard James Winningham, age 82, of Plano, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2011. He was born November 5, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas to Rufus R. and Annabel (Jinkins) Winningham. On September 16, 1960, Richard married Joan Aulbach in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a champion distance runner for Amarillo High School and received a track scholarship from the University of Texas. Richard was a graduate of the Texas Tech College of Engineering and was a mechanical engineer for Continental Emsco for 28 years and with Vero Corporation after retiring from Emsco. He is survived by his sons, Robert R. Winningham and wife Meredith of Allen, Texas and Thomas G. Winningham of Plano, Texas; and grandsons, Reid Ellis Winningham and Grey Peterson, both of Allen, Texas. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joan Winningham.
