Richard Ronald Williams was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Above all else, Rick was a family man. His wife, Kay, was the great love of his life. Falling in love with her in high school, they walked side by side and celebrated 60 years of marriage in February.
Rick had great influence over those in his care. Family was always the driving force in his life; he was devoted to his family and in their eyes, Rick was perfect.
After graduating high school in Payne, Ohio, Rick went to work for International Harvester in Ft Wayne, Indiana. In 1978, Rick, Kay, and their daughters left family and friends in their move to Dallas, TX with International Harvester. Rick later served in leadership at Southwest
International as General Manager. His parents taught him the value of strong character and integrity and he was very much respected. While moving to The Lone Star State was a surprise, Rick’s family has loved calling Texas home.
In 2001, Rick retired and began to spend time at Twin Creeks golf course in Allen as a Starter. He also worked at Toyota as a courtesy driver and part time at Keller Williams. All of which kept him very busy and happy in his retirement.
One thing we all loved about Rick was his passion for hockey. His love for hockey started as a junior in high school as his dates with Kay took them to many local games. Rick and Kay continued to enjoy hockey together for another 28 years with season tickets in Dallas watching the Dallas Stars.
Together, Rick and Kay built a family and traveled extensively sharing many mutual interests. Never missing sporting events of his daughters, Rick coached his girls in their younger years through basketball and softball. Rick claimed front row seats at many of his grandchildren’s sporting events and performances.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Village Green. Their wisdom and care greatly improved Rick’s quality of life throughout his later years.
Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Meads Williams his father, Leslie Williams and great grandson Cooper. Those who survive Rick include his wife Kay, Daughters and son-in-laws, Sherry and Steve Campbell, Cindy and David Jeanes, Shelly Woods and Dave Nortch, his sister Sylvia Lopshire married to Jim Lopshire of Indianapolis In, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, along with many family and friends.
Rick was dearly loved and will be missed.
