Richard P. Pooler Jr. of Allen, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026, two days shy of his 79th birthday. Richard was born on March 15, 1947, in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. He spent a fulfilling life dedicated to his family and career and was residing in Allen, Texas, at the time of his passing.
Richard was a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, and furthered his education at Central State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree. His professional journey in the insurance industry included 25 years with Travelers Insurance and an additional 20 years as a Premium Finance Specialist. He was respected in his field for his expertise and commitment.
On December 1, 1988, Richard married Linda Dian Pooler in San Antonio, Texas, beginning a loving partnership that lasted until his passing. A devoted Christian, he was an active member of Cottonwood Creek Church, where he found great joy in his faith and community.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Dian Pooler of Allen, Texas; son, Stephen Pooler and his wife, Kylea Pooler, of Pearland, Texas; daughter, Meghan Bolton and her husband, Jake Bolton, of McKinney, Texas; and his cherished grandsons, Chad Bolton, Connor Bolton, and Caleb Bolton. He is also survived by his sisters, Nanci Poyner and husband (Randall) and Vicky Hesselgren and husband (Richard), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his son Chad McGiboney, parents, Ann Jane Pooler and Richard Pooler, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
