William Richard Lovely of McKinney, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on May 11, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, to Harry Richard Lovely and Mildred Catherine (Gouger) Lovely. Known to many as Richard, he grew up with strong values of faith, service, and hard work that remained with him throughout his life. His greatest love was for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His relationship with Christ was strengthened by his love for God’s Word.  

Richard was a proud graduate of South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas. He went on to pursue higher education at North Texas State University in Denton. Richard served his country with honor from 1963 – 1969 in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.  

Richard married Cathy Jordan on May 22, 1964, in Dallas, Texas and later, he married Judy McRight on November 21, 1980, in McKinney, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with support and precious memories. Richard lovingly cared for his wife with attention and diligence, always putting her needs first and showing his love through thoughtful actions and quiet strength. 

Richard began his professional career in the insurance industry; however, most of his career was at Accelerated Christian Education, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring. Later in life, he found fulfillment working at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Richard was a dependable presence, known for his reliability and strong work ethic. He was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. 

Richard was a loving husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. Those who knew Richard will remember him for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Cathy Lovely, and stepson, Bryan McRight.  

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Lovely of McKinney, Texas; son, Pastor Michael Lovely and wife, Kristie of Van Alstyne, Texas; daughter, Shannon Fralic and husband, Bob of Conneaut, Ohio; six grandchildren; Matt Lovely, Tim Lovely and wife, Claire, Ashley Lovely, Addy Lovely, Ryan Fralic and wife, Leanne, and Tyler Fralic and wife, Kayla; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Mason and Grant; stepsister, Debora Lea Read of Duncanville, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends.
